PSI Inspection Certificate (Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate)
A Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) Certificate is an essential quality control document that verifies the quality, quantity, and compliance of goods before they are shipped. It is required by many countries, importers, and banks to ensure that the products being shipped meet contractual agreements, safety regulations, and international standards. Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is typically carried out when at least 80% of the production is completed and packed.
Our accredited inspectors conduct a comprehensive examination to:
- Verify that the goods match order specifications and customer requirements.
- Identify any defects or non-conformities before shipment.
- Confirm that safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
- Prevent costly delays, rejections, or disputes during customs clearance or final delivery.
The PSI inspection covers the following key checkpoints:
- Build quality and workmanship of the products
- Functionality, durability, and safety testing
- Measurements and weight verification
- Markings, labeling, and barcodes compliance
- Packaging and shipping condition revie
- Visual and aesthetic checks
- Document verification (e.g., compliance certificates, test reports)
- Supervision during container loading (if requested)
Once the inspection is successfully completed, a PSI Certificate is issued, along with a detailed inspection report including photos and findings. This certificate serves as proof of compliance for importers, banks (for L/C transactions), and customs authorities.
To issue a PSI Certificate, the following documents are needed:
- Final Packing List (PL) – 最终的箱单
- Commercial Invoice – 商业发票
- Manufacturer/Supplier Declaration Letter – 生产商/供应商声明 (Template provided upon request)
- Test Reports & Compliance Certificates based on international standards – 根据国际标准做的测试报告及相关证书
- Product Drawings or Specifications (if applicable) – 产品图纸或技术规格
- Copy of Original Bill of Lading (B/L) – 提单复印件
Why a PSI Certificate is Important?
- Ensures products meet quality and regulatory standards before shipment.
- Reduces financial and operational risks, especially for L/C (Letter of Credit) transactions.
- Facilitates smooth customs clearance and import approval.
- Builds trust between suppliers and buyers through transparent quality assurance.
By conducting PSI and providing the inspection certificate, we help protect your brand reputation, minimize shipment risks, and ensure smooth international trade operations.
